Frequent Questions
Do I need to worry about altitude sickness?
Uyuni sits at approximately 3,656 meters. We highly recommend spending a day or two adjusting to the altitude before starting the tour. Our 4x4s are equipped with emergency oxygen.
What should I pack for a one day tour?
Sunscreen (high SPF), sunglasses, comfortable walking shoes, a warm jacket (it gets very cold after sunset), and extra cash in Bolivianos for restrooms and the island entrance fee.
Will we see the mirror effect?
The mirror effect is visible during the rainy season (usually January to April) when water gathers on the salt flats. During the dry season, you will experience the stunning hexagonal salt patterns.
